Brown's Alignment, Brake, and Auto Repair

An Auto Repair Business Built by Hard Work and Honesty

When Bayne & Ann Norris decided to buy an auto repair shop in 1986, they had no small business experience and very little background in auto repair. Bayne had been an engineer for Black & Decker for 28 years and Ann was a mother and schoolteacher. They knew it was going to be really tough, but they also understood there were some basic guidelines that every business needed to follow to be successful.

Bayne and Ann’s Guidelines for a Successful Auto Repair Shop

Customer safety and complete satisfaction above all else

Treat your employees with respect and fairness

Earn the trust and respect of your customers and employees in return

The first five years they worked tirelessly, spending 12-14 hours a day at the shop with no vacations. In those hard first years the business grew under the motto, “Always do honest, good work. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always do honest, good work.” With hard work, dedication, and determination they built a successful auto repair business. Along the way they also earned the confidence of their employees and the trust and loyalty of their customers.

Today, nearly 40 years later, Brown’s is proud to still be family owned and operated. Bayne and Ann’s sons, Scott and Bryan, run the business now. Bayne is mostly retired, but he still takes care of the business insurance needs from home, and Ann works part time from home doing our paperwork.
