Brown's Alignment Auto Repair

About

Bayne Norris built business on honesty

A business built by being honest and hard work

When Bayne & Ann Norris decided to buy an automotive repair shop in 1986, they had no small business experience and very little automotive background. Bayne had been an engineer for Black & Decker for 28 years. Ann was a mother and school teacher. They knew it was going to be tough. The first five years they worked tirelessly. 12-14 hours days. No vacations. But with honest dedication and drive they learned the business and built confidence in their employees and customers. They understood there were some basic guidelines that every successful business needed:

Ann-NorrisTreat your employees fairly and be honest
• Customer safety and complete satisfaction must take precedence over everything else.
• Develop trust and respect with your customers and employees

So even in those hard first years the business grew under the motto, “Always honest good work… At a profit – if we can. At a loss – if we must, but always honest good work.”

Today, more than 27 years later, Brown’s is proud to still be family owned and operated. Bayne & Ann’s sons Scott and Bryan run the business now. Bayne is mostly retired – he still takes care of all the business insurance needs from home. While Ann works part time, three half days per week, mainly concentrating on paperwork.
